Microsoft Launches Exam Insurance!  With Microsoft Exam Insurance, you can retake a Microsoft Certification exam if you need to.  You'll have two chances to pass and validate your knowledge of critical IT job functions. If you pass on your first try, you'll receive a 25 percent discount on any future Microsoft Certification exam.

  2. Codenamed 'Whidbey', Microsoft's latest update to their developer tool, Visual Studio, has now been released in the Standard Edition, which now includes the new Team System.  F1 are scheduling Workshop 2364 for developers to get a 'hands on' feel for the new version.  www.f1comp.co.uk/dotnet/2364.html.

  3. Now that Microsoft have officially stopped supporting Windows NT4, are you looking at upgrading your systems to the new Windows Server 2003?  For the 2000+ companies worldwide who are still running NT4, Microsoft has released two 1 day jumpstart clinics to help you.  Clinic 2123: Jumpstart: Upgrading from Windows NT4 to Windows Server 2003 and Clinic 2199: Jumpstart: Active Directory Fundamentals.

  4. Microsoft has released two BizTalk Server 2004 courses:
    Course 2157: Developing E-Business Solutions using Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, and Course 2158: Deploying and Managing E-Business Solutions using Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004.

  5. In a case of Microsoft listening to the CPLS's and the students who taught and attended SharePoint Course 2012 respectively, Microsoft have not just updated the course, but have replaced it with a new one! In the process, they have also updated it to SharePoint 2003.  Course 8036: Designing IT Platform Collaborative Applications with SharePoint 2003 Workshop, will enable students to design and deploy SharePoint Server 2003 products and technologies.

  6. The MCSD .NET and MCSE 2003 Certification Tracks now have an elective MSF (Microsoft Solutions Framework) exam.  F1 offers the courses for this exam, 1846 and 2710, at our sites in London and Bath.

  8. Yukon is coming, just not yet!  The new version of SQL Server, which is officially 2005 but is probably better known as it’s code-name Yukon, has been delayed yet again, which will be a huge disappointment to some.  However, we do have some news, at Fusion last month, we saw a demonstration of what Yukon can do, and everyone was very excited about the possibilities it offers.  The pre-release course outlines are available on our website at www.f1comp.co.uk/sql/sql05index.html, although these are subject to change.
