Distance Learning
- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Is Distance Learning as good as Classroom training? It depends on you! Some customers find it suits them down to the ground. Others find it still a bit too of a remote experience compared to the more traditional classroom course. If you are comfortable with having long phone conversations, you are likely to enjoy Distance Learning. Obviously, physical interaction is less and you can't share lunch or coffee with other delegates and the trainer if you are not there in person! Is the technology up to the task? With a few provisos - Yes. Obviously high quality distance learning is dependant upon the quality of your broadband connection. Also you may need to wait a short while for the trainer to be free to resolve any technical issues you might have. What Hardware do I need? A reasonably fast PC with internet connection and sound card. You need either a comfortable headset or, preferable, a hands free internet phone. You also need to be in a quiet study environment to ensure that you can concentrate on the course and not be distracted by others around you. What are the downsides and upsides? Downsides - Not all customers are comfortable with Distance Learning. You may need to concentrate more. The trainer can't be constantly checking to make sure you haven't dropped off to sleep! Upsides - More cost effective - up to 50% off the total cost price of a classroom course when you take into account travel and accommodation costs. It is obviously more time effective and is more convenient to you with a lot less disruption to your work and personal lifestyles. Can I attend a Distance Leaning course from a location outside of UK Yes. However, F1 cannot guarantee the quality of your own broadband connection to our servers in the UK.
