- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Why Learn from books? Since the invention of the printing press, people have learnt from books. They offer the broadest and deepest content available. Individuals from their very first years are used to learning from books and usually find book reading and learning natural and pleasurable activities. Books can also be quite effective mechanisms for simple concepts, however not all individuals are comfortable with acquiring more complex knowledge from books. How do I get help with the book contents? If you have purchase Comprehensive Support just call or email our support team on 01225 427285 or support@f1comp.co.uk ,and a Microsoft Certified Trainer who has the book to hand will work through the relevant chapters with you. Note that you can purchase support any time after you have purchased a book from F1. The other alternative is to visit the main Microsoft support site and./or the related Technology User Group site to ask your question there. However, there is no guarantee that you will receive the help you required. Can we supply books to customers outside of UK? At the moment we are unable to supply books outside the UK. Is Book Learning right for me? It depends on your preferences and aptitude. Some customers find learning from books easy. Others find it sometimes difficult to grasp and fully comprehend when more difficult concepts are introduced and developed. In these circumstances we recommend that you either consider purchasing support for your book or instead select one of our other products such as E-Learning, Classroom Learning or Distance Learning. What is the situation with regards to VAT? Books are currently zero rated for VAT purposes. However if the book/manual contain a CD or access to an internet site then the UK Customs and Excise department sometimes mandate that a small proportion of VAT is due for that part of the product which is not a book. With regards to F1's Support Service, Customs and Excise have ruled that it is a 'Service' and therefore subject to the standard rate of VAT of 17.5%.
