The Real Story behind Microsoft Dynamics CRM
Microsoft Dynamics CRM initially was not designed to be a Sales,
Marketing and Service package but was rather as a development platform.
It started out as product called iCommunicate which was purchased by
Microsoft in 2001.
To demonstrate the capability of it as a development platform, a sample
application for customer relationship management was developed.
This 'sample application' was quickly identified as potentially able to
fulfil the core needs of both Microsoft themselves and
customers who were well aware of the significant limitations of
competing CRM products in the marketplace.
Microsoft Dynamics CRM was born.....
