Before attending this course, students must have the following pre-requisites:
  • At least six months’ experience supporting a Windows network.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Hardware device drivers; Creating and modifying Unattended answer files; Modifying the Windows registry; Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, and the TCP/IP protocol suite; Command Prompt batch scripting techniques; Creating boot disks; Microsoft Office 2003.
  • Recommended attendance on Course 2277, or have equivalent knowledge.

After completing the course, students will be able to describe the content and purpose of the Microsoft Solution Accelerator for Business Desktop Deployment (BDD) Standard Edition; test and mitigate compatibility issues by using the Application Compatibility Toolkit; customize and use the User State Migration Tool (USMT); configure security on a BDD disk image; prepare and customize core applications for deployment; package supplemental applications for installation after disk-image deployment; perform basic tasks by using the Computer Imaging System; customize a disk image by using the Computer Imaging system; deploy disk images by using the Solution Accelerator for Business Desktop Deployment (BDD) Standard Edition Deployment Wizard.
