Before attending this course, students must have the following pre-requisites:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003.
• Successful completion of the Windows Server 2003 core curriculum for MCSAs.
• Working knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP and Domain Name System (DNS).
• Working knowledge of Internet Information Services (IIS).
• Successful completion of Course 2552: Designing, Planning, and Managing a Windows SharePoint Services Infrastructure or working knowledge of Windows SharePoint Services.

After completing the course, students will be able to explain the function and goals of Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003; deploy SharePoint Portal Server in a small server farm; configure server components and create and configure portal sites and virtual servers; design the information structure for SharePoint Portal Server; manage SharePoint Portal sites; manage and monitor SharePoint Portal Server; plan and implement disaster recovery for SharePoint Portal Server.
