Before attending this course, students must have the following pre-requisites:
  • Some experience using Microsoft Windows NT Server and of the Microsoft Windows operating system and an understanding of basic Microsoft network functions and terminology including share and access network resources
  • Ability to set up user accounts through User Manager for Domains
  • Ability to change network settings using Control Panel
  • Experience working with any database front-end query and reporting tool.
  • It will be beneficial to have the following:
  • One year of experience with relational databases, including designing a relational database
  • Understanding of the fundamental concepts of relational database design
  • One month of experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Understanding of basic Transact-SQL statements.
> Purpose
At the end of the course, students will have an overall understanding of SQL Server including installation and configuration, creation and management of files and databases, login security and database permissions and be able to transfer and migrate data into databases; publish data on the World Wide Web; back up and restore databases; automate administrative tasks.
