Financial Assistance and Funding Options
This page outlines and provides links for individuals or
organisations to find sources of funding for training or other IT
related purchases.
Please note that F1 Computing Systems is not qualified to offer advice
as to the best way of funding your training or IT purchases. The page below
has possible sources of funding to assist you in finding the most
appropriate for your specific needs, however funding from these sources is subject to variable criteria and is not guaranteed.
Funding for Individuals
Direct Gov Website:
The
Direct Gov website has a whole section dedicated to adult learning and
skills with career advice, including a section on obtaining financial help.
Directory of Social Change:
The DSC is the leading source of
information and training for the voluntary and community sector.

has over £2.3 billion of local, regional, national and European funding
sources available;
www.grantsforindividuals.org.uk for individuals in need;
www.companygiving.org.uk has
490 companies with £808 million available;
www.trustfunding.org.uk has
4400 trusts with £3.6 billion available.
Support During Redundancy
If you have recently been made redundant, or are in your redundancy
notice period, you may be eligible for funding through the following
organisations:
Welsh Assembly Government:
The
Redundancy Action Scheme (ReAct) is a programme of funding for training
provided by the Welsh Assembly for people living in Wales who are facing
redundancy. The scheme can also help employers who are recruiting
someone who has recently been made redundant.
NB. F1 has provided training in our Bath office for people on this scheme.
Department for Work and Pensions:
If you are
un-employed or have recently been made redundant, you may be eligible for
funding through the DWP. An introduction to
learning cost assistance is available online (including information on
Professional and Career Development Loans), or simply speak to your careers
adviser at your local Job Centre.
NB. F1 is registered at the DWP as a provider of training services.
Response to Redundancy Programme:
R2R is a Learning & Skills Council and European Social Fund programme
designed to support both employers and employees who may be involved in the
process of redundancy or are likely to be in the near future. It provides
funding and support to better prepare individuals for the job market once
they leave their current employer. Available at various locations
around the UK.
Funding for Employers
Business Link:
Business Link is a free business advice
and support service, available online and through local advisers. The
website gives practical advice for businesses and has a section on
Finance and Grants.
Welsh Assembly Government:
ProAct - Skills Growth Wales is a financial support package designed to
help Welsh companies grow by funding high level or new technology skills
training.
Train to Gain:
Train to Gain is part of the Governments Solutions for Business, a wide
portfolio of highly targeted, publicly funded business support products and
services, designed to help eligible English businesses grow and succeed.
Train to Gain is a national service that supports employers of all sizes
and in all sectors to improve the skills of their employees as a route to
improving their business performance.
Microsoft Financing:
Microsoft Financing provides flexible payment solutions for
organisation’s to acquire the IT solution they need rather than what they
can afford . Microsoft Financing offer a single source of finance not just
for Microsoft software, but also for services including training and
consultancy, plus third party hardware and software.
