Target Audience:
The goal of this course is to provide Web and Active Server Pages (ASP) developers with the knowledge and skills to build mobile Web applications that target a wide variety of mobile devices such as Web capable cell phones, pagers, and Personal Digital Assistants (PDA). The course focuses on using the Mobile Internet Toolkit, core ASP .NET functionality, and the integrated design environment (IDE) of Microsoft Visual Studio .NET to enable students to create a single mobile Web application that will be viewable on any number of devices
Pre-requisites:
Before attending this course, students must have the following pre-requisites:- Created forms and tables in HTML.
- Knowledge of ASP .NET.
- Written Microsoft Visual Basic .NET or Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript) code.
- Accessed data by using ADO .NET
Purpose:
After completing the course, students will be able to use mobile Web Forms to create a Web application, use different types of mobile controls in a mobile Web form, use advanced mobile controls in an application, create a mobile application by using the Mobile Internet Designer, customize the display rendering for particular devices by using style sheets and templates, enable pagination in a mobile application, add device-specific capabilities in a mobile application, create a custom mobile Internet control, add or modify device support by changing the machine.config file, debug a mobile application, maintain state in a mobile application, enable cookie-less authentication in a mobile application, deploy a mobile application.
