Target Audience:
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to install and implement the Microsoft CRM 3.0 Data Migration Pack. The class is targeted toward administrators, implementers, developers, and consultants who need to understand how to use the Data Migration Pack for migrating source application data into Microsoft CRM.
Pre-requisites:
Before attending this course, students must have the following pre-requisites:- A working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2000, 2003, or Windows XP, and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 2005.
- Proficiency in installing, configuring, and customizing Microsoft CRM 3.0.
Purpose:
After completing this course, students will be able to plan each of the components of a Data Migration project; prepare Microsoft CRM for data migration; use the Data Migration Framework planning documents to map the source data schema to Microsoft CRM schema; identify the schema structure of the staging database, known as the Common Data Format (CDF) database; initialize the (CDF) database; populate the CDF database with source data; cleanse source data in the CDF database; perform a test migration of selected source data entities from the CDF database into the Microsoft CRM database; perform a full migration of source data entities from the CDF database into the Microsoft CRM database; validate the data migration was successful.
