Target Audience: This clinic provides IT professionals with an introduction to BizTalk Server 2006 and how to deploy and manage applications to a BizTalk environment. It is intended for IT professionals who want an overview of how to install and configure a BizTalk Server environment and how to deploy and manage BizTalk applications.

Pre-requisites: Before attending this course, students should have the following pre-requisites:

• Two years of hands-on experience managing a Microsoft Windows Server network.
• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL ServerT.
• Familiarity with a scripting language (e.g. Microsoft Visual Basic, Scripting Edition-VBScript-or JScript).
• No prior BizTalk experience is necessary.

Purpose: After completing this clinic, students will be able to describe the services and tools provided in BizTalk Server 2006; describe the BizTalk production environment and toolset; describe planning considerations for a BizTalk production environment; identify prerequisites and explain the installation process for BizTalk Server; describe the capabilities of the client administration tools; explain how Enterprise Single Sign-On enables secure integration; describe the role of the administrator in managing a BizTalk environment; describe the application deployment process; explain management and operations tasks for BizTalk applications; explain the purpose of and management tasks for BizTalk groups; describe the tools available for monitoring a BizTalk Server environment; describe the use of Business Rules in a BizTalk application; explain how Business Activity Monitoring BAM can be used to monitor both real-time and historical data.
